Ah, yes. The day after the run… A lot of aching seems to be taking place. Definitely not recovering like a 17 year-old. There will be none of this “I’m going running every day” malarkey. But it is only aching. No actual injuries that I’m aware of. And it’s a worthy sort of aching. If I say “ooh” and wince and someone asks me if I’m OK, I can give a worthy smile and say “Fine, just ran 7K yesterday,” in an offhand sort of way.
UPDATE: I have said “ooh” and winced seven times in the last hour and nobody has asked if I’m OK. I might have to adapt to “ooh, maybe I should only have run 6K”, but I somehow feel that won’t work either.
