Run 2 (part 1)

I said last time that I wouldn’t be running 5km any time soon.  And I’m right.  I’m going to run 7km instead. My yoga friends also go running at the weekend in a nice bit of countryside and invited me along when I proudly told them I had a new pair of running shoes. I proudly accepted their invitation and proudly told my family, who pointed out that when our friends go running they go ‘quite a long way’. I said I wasn’t worried because I had already run ‘quite a long way’ on Run 1. Then I phoned up my friends and asked them if they were going ‘quite a long way’. They said ‘no’, which made me happy, then completed their reply by saying ‘only 7 km’. There seems to be a difference between what ‘quite a long way’ means to people who sit on settees a lot and what it means to people who are fit, good at yoga and go running a lot. I will find out exactly what that difference is tomorrow.
